JLAW offers business law support to meet its clients’ expectations. The firm assists companies with their projects, partnerships and growth strategies. Our mission is to provide managers and investors with the technical support they need to make the right decisions, and to manage contentious or pre-litigious situations.

JLAW assists its clients with international projects and disputes, and carries out almost 40% of its business outside France. Since its creation, the firm has been involved in the various stages of structuring its clients’ international projects, and also participates in feasibility studies to determine the conditions necessary for a project’s success, plan its implementation and seek financing. The firm relies on a multi-disciplinary team of lawyers, sector consultants, notaries and chartered accountants.

The firm also advises foreign investors on setting up business in France and negotiating contracts governed by French law. The firm also uses its expertise to defend their interests in litigation in France, and to enforce foreign court rulings in France.

Jennifer Juvénal is a lawyer based in Paris.

PWC Société d’Avocats and Squire Patton Boggs), then a French firm dedicated to international arbitration (Lazareff Le Bars), before creating her own structure, JLAW SARL, dedicated to business law.

At 41, Jennifer Juvénal is the 3rd generation of lawyer in her family. Her commitment to the profession is closely linked to her grandfather Max Juvénal[1], President of the Aix-en-Provence Bar Association and member of the Conseil supérieur de la magistrature.

Jennifer JUVENAL supports her clients in the development of their international projects, particularly on the European and African continents.

In 2021, she was ranked by LeadersLeague magazine as one of the best practitioners specializing in project finance (in the “African desk” category).

Ms. Juvénal has also been recognized by African authorities for her commitment to the development of sustainable projects in Africa. In 2016, she received an honorary diploma from His Excellency the Prime Minister of Senegal, MAHAMMED BOUN ABDALLAH DIONNE.

Jennifer Juvénal puts her expertise to work to help legal and operational departments better grasp the new challenges they face.

Going beyond the simple evolution of standards, she helps her clients to decipher their contracts, distribution chains, product risks and instruments for delegating authority, in order to bring coherence between word and deed in companies wishing to accompany this crucial stage of 21st century growth.

Jennifer JUVENAL has extensive experience in socially responsible infrastructure projects, notably in the energy, automotive and waste recovery sectors. She knows how to listen to her clients, from project implementation right through to the negotiating room or courtroom, when the time comes to argue the reasoned choices that have been made or the fair and transparent sharing of responsibilities.

In addition to her work as a lawyer and consultant, and as an extension of her grandfather Max’s commitments, Jennifer Juvénal has been involved for over 20 years in the duty of remembrance, taking part in numerous symposiums and books on the Resistance during the Second World War. This commitment led her to approach the Italian authorities, particularly those in Piedmont, her grandmothers’ homeland, to help organize the events to be held in May-June 2024 to mark the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Saretto Agreements[1].

She is also very active in developing ambitious projects to support the active dynamic between France and Italy.

She is a member of the Paris Bar and works in English, French and Italian.

Advice to one of Europe’s leading automotive repair companies and implementation of a new international Master Franchise agreement.

Counsel to an Italian automotive repair service provider (using an American brand) in a dispute against one of its main master franchisees in Europe.

Energy sector

Advising a Moroccan company in setting up an industrial plastic waste recovery unit.

Assisted a leading French battery recycling company (subsidiary of a Singapore-based company) in setting up commercial agreements for the recovery of WEEE.

Assisted a French group with all issues relating to the design and implementation of pyrolysis plants in Côte d’Ivoire (drafting of General Sales Conditions, purchase contracts, maintenance contracts, etc.).

Assistance to a British downstream oil company in the acquisition of a group of companies based in Africa and French overseas departments and territories.

Advising a private university in Burkina Faso in the creation of a master’s degree program (energy sector) in partnership with a French university, and in the search for funding.
